Jessica & Thomas – Cozy Winter Industrial Wedding

ceremony in an industrial wedding space at a restaurant

If you couldn’t imagine what a winter wedding looked at a restaurant that gives industrial modern vibes, here’s your inspiration. J + T chose to host their wedding at the Mill Street Brew Pub in Ottawa, which had plenty of parking, great atmosphere, and was very close to downtown Ottawa. The weather was MILD for December, which gave us such a great option of walking around to take some outdoor photos!

Getting Ready

I’ll just say that there was a minor kerfuffle for the bride’s side getting ready and they had to pivot last minute to a new location through no fault of their own. While it was farther than the original location, it still worked out perfectly and the space was even larger! We worked to amend the timeline to account for the extra distance. 🙂

The First Look

Following getting ready, we drove to Major’s Hill Park which is just behind the lovely historic Chateau Laurier. J + T preferred a personal first look and vows, and boy was it beautiful. ♡

Ceremony in an Industrial Space

If you’ve never been to the Mill Street Brew Pub before, there’s a second floor on top of where the regular patrons sit. The entrance is a shared public one, then you head up the staircase on the right. J + T used both the Brewmaster’s Private Bar & Dining Room, and we flipped the space from the ceremony to the reception during cocktail hour. The walls have numerous windows and are the lovely industrial stone photographed. The bar itself is just beside the dining room and has some additional lounge seating for guests before the ceremony, during cocktail hour, and into the evening if they want to be near the dance floor!

We lined the aisle with soft glowing pillar candles and in the dimming light, it was a perfect contribution to the cozy atmosphere.

Wedding Celebration Goodness

While the guests had their cocktail hour, we and the venue team + the florists went to work to flip the space from ceremony to reception!

  • wedding planner setting up and lighting candles for cozy industrial style wedding

The floral arrangements that had been set on tables around the perimeter of the room were transferred easily to create the stunning tablescapes in the photos. The combination of taper candles in hurricane tubes, pillar candles, navy napkins, and string lights made for a delightful transformation!
