Celestial Inspired Wedding | Styled Shoot

lilac babys breath floral arch moon intimate toronto wedding venue

When Taylor Grant and I had our first ever video coffee chat, we knew our vendor friendship was meant to be. We giggled over dogs and Audrey Hepburn, and came up with an idea to do a blue and purple wedding shoot. Afterward, we had a false start due to COVID/winter/etc., following that we tried again and subsequently, almost a year after our initial discussion we are so excited to show you this beautiful, intimate, celestial inspired styled shoot.

FYI, this shoot is featured on Confetti Magazine – feel free to have a look there too!

Celestial Ceremony

We toyed with the idea of a hanging installtion of babies breath to simulate a dreamy cloud shape but ultimately decided to fill the white alcove with a moon arch. Envision Florals did a stunning job, creating an ombre effect using lilac, baby’s breath and some extra greenery to fill the entire moon. What came out of it was a delicate and magical arch ✨

Next, we included the Vandenberg House’s own chairs to create an intimate and cozy ceremony space paired with a lilac welcome sign to tie in the purples. Did you know? This downtown Toronto venue is perfect for weddings under 28 seated.

The Details

Combining sparkling pieces, an out of this world galaxy cake, rich blue and purple stationery, celestial inspired agate name stones + moon rock features, our team of vendors brought together a brilliant combination of alluring details. For instance, we dressed our bride in a sleek wedding gown. Between the glittery veil, star tiara, and pocket boutonniere, we felt totally immersed in this charming theme.

Double Feature Tablescapes

After the ceremony set-up, we brought in extra magic by adding the beautiful light purple and blue pillar candles. We also added vibrant florals for both tablescapes. During our styled shoot day, we set-up 2 different styles of table for your imagination to go wild with what you can do in an intimate space! Whether you’re a fan of rounds or of longer wood rectangular tables, there’s something for everyone to be inspired.

This is your sign that you can have a gorgeous blue and purple wedding – and you can add some magical celestial elements that are both vivid and enchanting at the same time. Getting married at The Vanderberg House with your closest friends and family is simple – bring in some outside catering, order your rentals through Event Rental Group, book a florist and/or decorator and you’re set!
