5 Things You Can Do After You’re Engaged

Congratulations! You just got engaged! You have found the one that you will spend your life with. What a beautiful and exciting path you and your partner are on. You might be bouncing off the walls and overjoyed but may not know what to do next. Have no fear! Here are some things you can do once you are engaged.

1. Celebrate the Moment

Celebrate this time with your future spouse however you both would like. Whether it’s a weekend getaway, relaxing, or just being with each other and doing nothing but binge-watching your favourite tv show. Embrace, absorb, and enjoy this time.

2. Share the News

Once you’ve celebrated with your future spouse, share the news with your family and close friends! Post it on social media or scream it from the rooftops! Let people know however you’d like. A few ways to creatively share you’re engaged are: custom t-shirts or sweaters that say Hubby or Wifey, writing it on your palms in a photo, or a pet portrait that says “My Humans are Getting Married!”

3. Host an Engagement Party

This can be as big or as small as your heart’s desire. Just pause and take a moment to cherish this time with those who mean the most. You can have a more intimate party like a small potluck dinner. You don’t need to book a hall or restaurant to make it special. Enjoy the night and bask in the love!

4. Set the Date

Every couple has a different engagement experience. If you want to be engaged for a short or long period of time, it is entirely up to you two. There are no rules to being engaged. Pick a date and time frame that best suits you as a couple and not everyone else’s agenda. It is your special day

5. Book an Engagement Photoshoot

A photoshoot right after you are engaged is a great way to document the recently engaged glow. Think of the memories you can look back on, the beautiful photos of you and them smiling. If engagement shoots are not your thing or if it’s not in your budget, no problem! Set up a tripod and your phone/camera and take some photos yourself. Tip: If you have booked your wedding photographer already, see if an engagement photoshoot is included in the package so you both can get comfortable in front of the camera before the wedding day.

During this time and the upcoming months, you will have a lot of decisions to make. Just remember the best decision you made was saying yes to your partner.
