Helen & Allan – Rainy Chateau Montebello Wedding

Helen and Allan’s wedding pivoted a couple of times as a result of the pandemic and because it was rainy, but that didn’t stop it from being a super happy celebration! I met H + A a couple years ago at the wedding of one of my best friends – Allan was a groomsman in the wedding party and brought Helen as his plus one. We actually met at the fiesta themed rehearsal dinner!

Fast forward to the following January where I was helping out my friend Kathryn, owner of Bloom Music Weddings now renamed Kathryn Patricia at the Capital Wedding Show at the Shaw Centre in Ottawa. And who did I see other than Helen, who was looking for a coordinator!

The plan moved from a larger group of guests down to 50 to be in line with Quebec’s COVID19 restrictions as the time, and then moved from an outdoor ceremony to an indoor one because of rain. Luckily, the brunch reception was being held in a tent, so the rain could pour away. With restrictions in place though, guests were seated by household so Montebello set up many tables for 2 and several larger tables all around inside the tent to aid in social distancing. I’m so glad H + A were still able to host their wedding with their close friends and family! The rain even let up at the end of the brunch and they could walk around with Mocha Tree Studios to take couples photos! Rainy days make for such beautiful photos!
