If you’re looking for summer wedding inspiration, this one’s for you! J+B’s wedding was a colourful, boho chic event with really fun elements like a vintage VW van and wildflower garden style florals. This wedding is one that is close to my heart because it was the union of one of my best friend’s brothers and his lovely partner – for instance, over the years, I’d met and spent time with both J+B on campgrounds and at family events. I was so excited to be able to celebrate their wedding with them! There were a lot of COVID19 hoops to jump and a lot of changes prior to when I hopped on to help them plan the final portion of their wedding. They were really all stars throughout their wedding journey and it was such an exciting moment to to watch them finally say, “I DO”.
Firstly, they asked their good family friends Barb and John Sweetman to capture their happy day and it was filled with vibrant, colourful wildflowers put together by the talented Lisa at Whiskey Jack Flowers and lots of laughter. They tied the knot inside of the gorgeous backdrop of the Sharon Temple Museum.
Reception
Furthermore, if you’re swooning over Brooke’s wedding dress (with little wildflower appliques) and cake – me too! Her gown was created by Papilio Bridal and the cake made by good friend Katie of Lekker & Co. One of my favourite elements was the handpicked vintage mugs that Brooke had been collecting for awhile to give away as favours for their day. It was so sweet!
J+B also had a vintage bar trailer that fitted their theme so well. You can find the bar trailer in southern Ontario to rent: Happy Camper Trailer. They ended the night with a late night food truck – the ultimate North American comfort food – PIZZA. Mmm, everyone was SO excited to grab some slices by 11 PM from A’s Pizza Truck. Me included!
Additionally, Rob and his band were so upbeat and lively, they were a wonderful way to bring this wildflower wedding to a close. They kept everyone engaged from cocktail hour to much later after dinner!
