The Knox is more than just a venue—it’s a piece of Merrickville’s history. Originally built as a Presbyterian church in the 19th century, the building has been lovingly restored to maintain its historical integrity while offering all the amenities needed for a modern event. The venue’s architecture, with its classic Gothic details and warm wooden accents, creates an atmosphere of timeless romance that is perfect for weddings. Perfect for around 80 guests.

Meet Michelle + Matt: The Visionaries Behind The Knox

With a deep love for weddings and a keen eye for detail, Michelle and Matt have transformed The Knox into one of the Ottawa Valley’s most sought-after venues. Their journey into the wedding venue industry began with a desire to create a space where couples could celebrate their love in a setting that was both beautiful, safe, and meaningful. We’ve had the pleasure of working with them during the last 4 years and cannot recommend them more!

The Knox Wedding & Event Venue was once a Presbyterian church built in 1861. In 2020, we (Michelle & Matt) turned this beautiful historic building into a modern venue hosting ceremonies, receptions, and other significant events. We’ve had the honour of being a part of over 100 wedding days and counting!

Fun Fact: Before opening The Knox, Michelle ran a wedding planning business, Crimson & Clover Events, and Matt would come along and assist on wedding days and that’s how the idea for The Knox began.
